Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem won the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw event. Arshad created an Olympic record by throwing 92.97 in the second attempt.

Due to this, he has had to struggle with pain in his groin area in recent times. Top three doctors can do Neeraj’s surgery. However, the final decision has to be taken by Neeraj only. Neeraj Chopra also hinted about surgery after the final match. Chopra said after the final, ‘I will talk to my team and take a decision accordingly. I am pushing myself despite the current condition of my body. I still have a lot in me and I have to keep myself fit for this.’ Due to groin problem, he has played very few tournaments in recent times.
