Neeraj Chopra-Arshad Nadeem Press Conference: India’s Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal in javelin throw on 8 June at the Paris Olympics 2024 and got his name recorded in the pages of Olympic history. Neeraj is the first Indian player to win gold and silver medals in the visual event of athletics back to back.
On 8 August 2024, Paris Neeraj won the silver medal for India by throwing the javelin 89.45 meters away. Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem threw the javelin 92.97 meters away and won the gold, while Grenada’s Anderson Peters won the bronze medal of this event by throwing the javelin 88.54 meters.

After winning this event, all three players came to the press conference, where they were asked many questions. Among them, a journalist asked Arshad and Neeraj a question about the India-Pakistan rivalry.
Arshad Nadeem was the first to give a brilliant answer to this. He said- When there is a match between India and Pakistan, the entire public leaves their work and sits in front of the TV. Similarly, when there is a competition between me and Neeraj Chopra brother, everyone leaves their work and sits in front of the TV. We are very happy about this.

Arshad said- We are happy if there is a match between India and Pakistan in any field. At present, both of us are doing well in javelin throw from South Asia to the whole world, this should motivate the youth of both the countries and bring glory to their countries.
Neeraj Chopra replied to this question and said- this is a good thing for both the countries. Javelin is not that popular in both the countries. And also in Grenada (pointing towards Anderson Peters).

Neeraj Chopra said on the rivalry with Arshad Nadeem- Nadeem and I have been playing against each other since 2016. I was winning continuously since then, God was with me. But today Arshad did wonders. He brought glory to his country. I would like to praise him because he has worked very hard.
Neeraj also said during this time that in the coming days, it is expected that more javelin throwers will come and take this sport forward in the countries, now javelin is becoming popular in both the countries.
Javelin Throw medal ceremony held on 9 August
The medal ceremony for Men’s Javelin Throw took place on 9 August, in which Arshad Nadeem, Neeraj Chopra and Anderson Peters of Grenada were awarded their medals.
