Politics is heated in UP regarding the Nazul Property Bill. This bill was passed in the Vidhan Sabha, but it has been put on hold in the Legislative Council. Now it has been sent to the Select Committee. BJP MLA Siddharth Nath Singh’s name is also included among those who demanded amendments in this bill. Siddharth Nath has also met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. On Friday, he talked to Aaj Tak and said, there is no confusion in the party or the government regarding Nazul. There is no dispute either, rather the government listened to the MLAs in a democratic way and decided to send it to the Select Committee.

Siddharth Nath Singh said that like me, other MLAs had also met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and put forward their views. After that, the CM called both the Deputy CMs. He called the state president and held a meeting in the Assembly. In this meeting, it was decided that this bill will be sent to the Select Committee in the Legislative Council.

The party and the government took the decision together

Siddharth Nath said that it was decided in the meeting itself that the leader of the Legislative Council and Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya will table this bill. After that there will be a discussion, in which the state president will recommend sending it to the Select Committee. Everyone will give their consent on this proposal and it will be sent to the Select Committee. This is a process. The decision has been taken by the party and the government together. This is a big thing, which needs to be understood.

Many people have grabbed Nazul properties

According to Siddharth Nath Singh, many MLAs had given some suggestions in the assembly. Then it was agreed that for now it should be sent to the Select Committee. There is no dispute between the government and the organization. All this is created by the media. If a bill has to be stopped and discussed in a democratic way, this could have been the way. The Nazul Property Bill is not wrong. Many people have usurped Nazul properties. Some people who are no longer in this world, their generation is not there. Such properties have been occupied by the mafia of the Samajwadi Party. The government is taking back such properties. Some way or the other will be found and this bill will be brought again in the right way.

I had two suggestions…

Siddharth Nath Singh said that I did not demand any amendment, but gave suggestions to the government. I am happy that Parliamentary Affairs Minister Khanna ji (Suresh) accepted both my suggestions on the floor itself and assured me. One of the suggestions was to extend the lease. There will be discussion inside the House as well and the government will be sensitive and present a solution or a good bill. Because 403 people sit in the House. All represent different places. The bill is related to lease. There were some such provisions in it. We talked to the government and seniors. After that they said that you must put forward your point. Later other MLAs went. They must have had a different issue. They met the CM. After that the CM held a meeting.

what is the whole matter

In fact, a peculiar situation was seen on the last day of the session of the Assembly. The Nazul Property Bill which the Yogi government passed by voice vote in the Assembly a day earlier, was shelved on the second day itself in the Legislative Council. That is, instead of passing it, it was sent to the Select Committee. Since many MLAs had started mobilizing against this bill. Jansatta Dal Loktantrik chief Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya took charge of the Khilafat. Many MLAs including BJP MLA Harsh Vajpayee opposed it. MLA from Prayagraj and former minister Siddharth Nath Singh demanded some amendments. Siddharth Nath said, there should be a provision to increase the lease of Nazul land, which the government accepted. But instead of 99 years, an amendment of 30 years was decided.

What is Nazul land?

During the British rule, the lands of the agitators were confiscated. The British government used to take these lands under its control. After independence, the same confiscated land came to be known as Nazul. After independence, the government took over the Nazul land. State governments started giving Nazul land on lease. The lease period can be between 15 to 99 years. There is Nazul land all over the country.
