Mumbai: A businessman was troubled by increasing debt, committed suicide by shooting himself in his own office

A businessman committed suicide by shooting himself in his office in Bhindi Bazaar, Mumbai at around 7:45 pm on Friday night. According to information received from JJ Marg Police Station, 52-year-old businessman Iqbal Mohammad Sivani shot himself inside his office on the first floor of Amin Building in Bhindi Bazaar area at around 7:45 pm on Friday night.

It is being told that at the time when Iqbal committed suicide, other employees of the office were also present there. Initial investigation has revealed that the deceased Iqbal Mohammad was very troubled by debt, he was continuously incurring losses in business due to which he committed suicide.

At present, the police is investigating whether the reason for suicide was debt or there could be some other reason. After the incident, the police has also seized the weapon from the office with which the deceased had shot himself. In this case, the police has registered a case under ADR. The body has been sent for post-mortem, which will also be videographed.

Let us tell you that this is not the first time when people have committed suicide due to debt or loss in business, last month also a person named Srinivasan had committed suicide. Srinivas was working abroad for a long time and later he came to Mumbai and started his own business. Tired of continuous losses and increasing debt, he committed suicide by jumping from Atal Setu.
