The youth, especially the Gen Z generation, is taking the responsibility of shaping the future of the country. A recent report on career and education, “The Quest Report 2024”, has revealed the mood of this young generation. According to the report, one in every four youth nowadays is attracted to jobs that are just emerging. Such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), cyber security, and content creation etc.
India’s youth is not only hardworking but also very confident. However, they also face challenges like lack of money and lack of equality between boys and girls. Still, these youth are trying their best to fulfill their dreams. According to the report, these youth are so passionate that 43% of them leave aside the worry of balancing work and personal life to fulfill their dreams.

- Chasing the dreams: 91% of youth believe that taking a gap year will help them fulfill their dreams.
- New Jobs: New jobs like data analysis, AI, cyber security, and content creation are attracting 25% of the youth.
- Trust in big companies: 19% of Indian youth want to see career growth in big companies. They believe that growth will happen only in big companies.
- Money problems: Lack of money is the biggest hurdle for 46% of the youth, yet more than 90% of the youth are confident of fulfilling their dreams.
- gender inequality: 8 out of 10 youth feel that lack of equality between boys and girls is the biggest challenge.
- Own business: Only 9% of the youth want to start their own business. The rest prefer to climb the ladder of a solid job.
- Hardworking Youth: Indian youth work harder than their peers and try to get ahead.
- Importance of Gurus: 49% of youth feel that getting help from knowledgeable people is very beneficial.
- Ready to give up hobbies: 43% of the youth in the country are ready to sacrifice the work-life balance to be successful in their career. At the global level, this figure is 46%. 62% of the youth are ready to give up their hobbies and interests just to fulfill their dreams.
Let us tell you that this report has been prepared on the basis of a survey conducted among about 6,700 youth aged 20 to 24 years from seven countries including America, Britain, Malaysia, Brazil and India. Generation Z usually refers to people born between 1995 and 2010.
