The police is trying to find out the reason behind the death of two Dalit girls in Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh. The postmortem report revealed that they had died by hanging and it was a case of suicide, while their family members have suspected foul play. Meanwhile, a mobile and a SIM card have been recovered from the spot. The police is now taking the help of cyber experts.
In fact, during investigation at the crime scene, the police recovered a mobile phone from the clothes of the elder girl (18 years old). This mobile phone turned out to be of her cousin. While a SIM card was found from the clothes of the younger girl (15 years old). This means that one girl had a mobile phone and the other had a SIM card.
Now the police is trying to find out why the SIM card was found with the younger girl? Does the younger girl have any connection with the mobile recovered from the elder girl? Why was only one SIM card removed from a dual SIM mobile?
The recovered phone has been sent to the cyber lab to recover the data. The police is also trying to find out the reason for the suicide from the IMEI of the mobile and the call details of the SIM.
In Farrukhabad, two girls aged 15 and 18 left their homes on August 26 at around 10 pm to visit a nearby temple on the occasion of Janmashtami but did not return. The next day their bodies were found hanging from a tree in an orchard.
The district’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Avnindra Singh said that a panel of doctors conducted the post-mortem. The girls had died due to hanging. No external injury marks were found on the bodies. The police also said that the findings of the post-mortem report matched their initial investigation into the case. SP Alok Priyadarshi said that the girls had committed suicide. No external injury marks were found on the bodies. The police is now investigating the reasons that led the girls to take this step.
