Minor was kidnapped from home, 5 lakhs were demanded in exchange for release… Action taken against 4 policemen including sub-inspector and constable in Kanpur

A shocking incident has come to light from Kanpur, which has raised questions on the working style of the police. In fact, four policemen including a sub-inspector posted in Kanpur Police kidnapped a minor boy from his home and then demanded ₹50000 from his family in exchange for releasing him. When the money was not given, he was framed in a false case and sent to jail.

The victim’s mother kept visiting senior officials with her complaint against the policemen but no hearing took place. Finally she had to knock the doors of the court. After which, on the court’s order, a report of kidnapping, extortion and assault was filed against four policemen including the sub-inspector and constable posted at Chakeri police station.

The woman had pleaded for justice in the court, alleging that her minor son was kidnapped from home, implicated in a false case, tortured and extorted, and that her plea was not heard at the police station. On the court’s order, the police have registered a case and started investigating the matter.

What did the victim’s mother say?

Soni, a resident of Kazikheda in Chakeri, said that she has been living with her minor son since her husband’s death eight years ago. Soni said that on May 14, four policemen from Chakeri police station came in plain clothes and took away her minor son. When she reached the police station to get her son released, the policemen demanded Rs 5 lakh. To save her son, she contacted the District Probation Officer and 1098 (Child Helpline) on May 15. She also submitted a complaint letter to the Police Commissioner’s office, on which the Commissioner assured an investigation.

But angry with the complaint, the policemen implicated the son in a false case and filed an FIR under the Arms Act. They also beat him up. On this, the victim woman filed a petition in the court of CJM Suraj Mishra.

On the other hand, DCP East Shravan Kumar says that the woman who has made the allegations has a criminal history. This action was taken in the course of action against ganja smugglers a few days ago. After this, the woman filed a case in the court to build pressure. On the order of the court, a report has been filed against Inspector Pankaj Kumar Mishra, constable Gaurav Yadav and two unknown policemen under the sections of kidnapping, extortion, abuse, assault and intimidation.
