Mighty Magiswords Creator Kyle Carrozza Arrested, Joins Growing List of Animation Professionals Accused of Child Exploitation

Kyle Carrozza, the creator of the Cartoon Network series Mighty Magiswords, has been arrested on charges of possession of child pornography. Carrozza was arrested on June 20, 2024, in Burbank, California, as part of an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

Carrozza has been charged under the California penal code 311.11(a) for possession of child pornography, as well as an enhanced 311.11(c) charge for knowingly possessing at least 12 videos or 600 images of child pornography. If found guilty, Carrozza could face up to one year in county jail or up to five years in state prison, and would be required to register as a sex offender.

Mighty Magiswords was a notable Cartoon Network series that initially launched as a series of shorts and interactive media on the Cartoon Network app before being greenlit for a full two-season run. The series centered around the adventures of the brother-sister duo Prohyas and Vambre, who were “Warriors for Hire” and collected various magical swords.The series ran for a total of 92 episodes.

Carrozza had previously worked on other Cartoon Network projects such as The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish.His arrest comes shortly after a similar incident involving the creator of another Cartoon Network show, Twelve Forever, further highlighting the troubling trend of child exploitation in the animation industry.
