Eligibility for Assistant Professor Positions

It is important to note that qualifying the MH SET 2024 examination is just one of the eligibility criteria for being appointed as an Assistant Professor in universities and affiliated colleges in the state of Maharashtra.

As per the UGC guidelines, a candidate who qualifies the MH SET will only be eligible for being appointed as an Assistant Professor, provided they also fulfill the other academic qualifications prescribed by the UGC and are selected by the respective Selection Committee.

Unlike the NET/UGC-CSIR Combined Test, the candidates who qualify the MH SET are only eligible for being selected as Assistant Professors and not for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

Additionally, after June 2002, SET-qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor only in the universities/colleges belonging to the same state whose SET examination they have cleared.

The MH SET 2024 is a crucial examination for candidates aspiring to become Assistant Professors in universities and affiliated colleges in the state of Maharashtra. The results of this examination are eagerly awaited, and candidates can expect the official announcement by the end of June 2024.

Candidates who have appeared for the MH SET 2024 should closely monitor the official website of SPPU for the latest updates and instructions on accessing their scorecards and the merit list. It is essential to understand the eligibility criteria and the process of result preparation to ensure a smooth transition towards the next stage of the selection process for the Assistant Professor positions.
