Texas-based YouTuber Matt Carriker, the creator of the popular firearms channel Demolition Ranch, has expressed his shock and dismay over the fact that the 20-year-old gunman behind the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump was wearing one of his channel’s t-shirts during the attack.
Thomas Matthew Crooks, a recent high school graduate from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, opened fire on Trump during a campaign rally on Saturday, killing one attendee and injuring two others before being shot and killed by Secret Service agents. Crooks was wearing a t-shirt displaying the Demolition Ranch logo at the time of the shooting.
Demolition Ranch is Carriker’s YouTube channel, which boasts over 11 million subscribers and is known for its unconventional take on firearms content. Carriker, a veterinarian by training, has built a successful online business around his passion for guns and gun culture.
In the wake of the violent incident, Carriker took to social media to express his shock and disbelief at being associated with the tragic event. He promised to address the situation publicly and indicated his intent to release a statement on YouTube soon.
