Today, the Allahabad High Court has given its verdict on the maintainability of civil cases filed by the Hindu and Muslim parties. On May 31 this year, a single bench of Justice Mayank Kumar Jain had reserved its verdict. In the 18 petitions filed by the Hindu side, it has been demanded that Mathura’s Shahi Idgah Mosque be handed over to the Hindus by declaring it as the birthplace of Shri Krishna.

The petition also demands that Hindus be allowed to worship in the disputed premises, and that the disputed premises be surveyed on the lines of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. Let us tell you how important the court’s decision is.

Why is the decision of Allahabad High Court important?

The importance of the Allahabad High Court’s decision in the Mathura temple mosque dispute can be understood from the fact that the High Court’s decision itself decided whether the petitions of the Hindu side are worthy of hearing or not. The court has rejected the objection of the Muslim side, which clearly means that further hearing on the petitions of the Hindu side will be possible. It is being speculated that after getting a setback from the High Court, the Muslim side will now approach the Supreme Court.
