A man from Rajasthan gave triple talaq to his wife over phone from Kuwait and after that he married a Pakistani woman in Saudi Arabia. After the complaint of the victim’s wife, the accused was taken into custody from Jaipur airport. This was revealed when his second wife came to Churu on a tourist visa.
Police said on Wednesday that a 35-year-old man from Rajasthan was detained at the airport for allegedly giving triple talaq to his wife over the phone. He has married Pakistani woman Mehvish for the second time. The accused Rehman met her through social media. After that both of them got married in Saudi Arabia. Officials said that she had reached Churu on a tourist visa last month and is currently living with her in-laws.
Hanumangarh Deputy SP (SC/ST Cell) Ranveer Singh said that Farida Bano (29), a resident of Bhadra in Hanumangarh, had lodged an FIR last month against her husband Rehman accusing him of dowry harassment and divorce through triple talaq. When Rehman landed at Jaipur airport from Kuwait on Monday, the police took him into custody.
He was brought to the police station. The DSP said that after initial interrogation, he was arrested the next day. He said that Rehman and Farida Bano got married in 2011 and now they are parents of a son and a daughter. Rehman had gone to Kuwait to earn a livelihood and was working in the transport sector there. There he came in contact with Pakistani woman Mehwish through social media and both got married in Saudi Arabia. After Mehwish came to Churu, Farida Bano, who was living with her parents in Hanumangarh, filed a case against Rehman.
