Many influential people of Sheikh Hasina’s party have been kept in safe haven, Bangladesh Army Chief makes a big revelation

Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar Uz-Zaman says that he has given shelter to many influential people of the ousted Sheikh Hasina government. The lives of these people are in danger. That is why they have been given shelter to protect them from any kind of possible attack.

Addressing a programme in Rajshahi Cantonment, he said that shelter has been given to those people whose lives are in danger, no matter which party they belong to or which religion they belong to.

The army chief said that if there is any allegation or case registered against any of these people, then action will be taken against them. But at present we want to protect these people from any kind of possible attack or extra judicial action, so they have been given asylum.

Let us tell you that his statement has come at a time when Anisul Haque, who was the law minister in the Sheikh Hasina government, and Salman F Rahman, Sheikh Hasina’s investment advisor, have been arrested from Dhaka. Earlier, Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud, who was a minister in the Hasina government, and another minister Junaid Ahmed were arrested from Dhaka airport. They were arrested when they were trying to flee the country.
