Many CMs will not attend the Niti Aayog meeting
NITI Aayog Meeting, BJP leaders have targeted the chief ministers of parties in the India Alliance who have announced boycott of the NITI Aayog meeting to be held on July 27 due to alleged bias towards their respective states in the Union Budget. Congress-ruled Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Himachal Pradesh’s Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Telangana’s Revanth Reddy have announced not to attend the NITI Aayog meeting. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader M.K. Stalin, Kerala Chief Minister and Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Pinarayi Vijayan and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) governments in Punjab and Delhi have also announced boycott of the meeting.
Mamata Banerjee canceled the tour
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was scheduled to come to Delhi on Thursday to attend the meeting but has cancelled her plans. It is not yet clear whether she will attend the meeting on Saturday. Lashing out at the opposition parties for the decision, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Dinesh Sharma said they were demoralised. “The opposition is desperate, it has no issue. They just spread rumours, and create narratives based on rumours. They are misleading people on reservation. Then, they started talking about NEET and colluded with international educational institutions to defame Indian educational institutions (on the issue of NEET). After the Supreme Court verdict, their mouths were shut,” Sharma said.
BJP took aim
BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy also targeted the opposition parties. Rudy said, Niti Aayog is a neutral platform. It has nothing to do with the budget. If Niti Aayog is calling for consultation, everyone should participate. If someone wants to avoid it for political reasons, then I have no comment to make.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh said neither Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann nor any representative of the Delhi government would attend the meeting. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MP Mahua Majhi said her party would take a decision based on the interests of the state. JMM is a constituent of the All India Alliance. Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Sasmit Patra supported the decision taken by the opposition parties and accused the Centre of not giving the states their share in the budget.
