Mangesh Yadav’s family or STF… whose story is true? These questions remain unresolved in the Sultanpur encounter

Questions are being raised on the encounter of Mangesh Yadav, who had a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head, in Sultanpur. The police and UP STF’s theory are also under question. There is a lot of contradiction in the story of Mangesh Yadav’s family and STF. While the family is calling the encounter fake, questions are also being raised on the method of the encounter. Opposition leaders like Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi are also openly opposing the Mangesh Yadav encounter. In such a situation, let us try to understand with some facts whose story is true, Mangesh’s family’s or STF’s?

Was Mangesh involved in the robbery incident or not?

According to the UP STF, mangesh yadav On August 28 at 12:15 pm, along with his accomplices, he had looted a jewellery showroom in Sultanpur.

On the other hand, Mangesh’s family claims that on 28th August from 10 am to 2 pm, Mangesh was with his sister because he had to deposit his sister’s school fees that day. In such a situation, how could he be involved in the robbery.

Mangesh was from a poor family, so how did he get branded clothes?

STF says that at the time of the encounter, branded clothes and trolley bags were found with Mangesh. He also had a bike with him. An expensive pistol was also recovered from him.

Mangesh’s sister

But if we believe Mangesh’s sister, when the family is living in such poverty, then from where will they get branded clothes. Leave alone a bike, there is not even a bicycle in the house. The house is also dilapidated.

Did you set out to encounter wearing slippers and jeans?

According to STF, it followed all the rules during the encounter of ‘dangerous criminal’ Mangesh Yadav. Like wearing bulletproof jacket etc. But in the photos that have come from the encounter site, STF officer DK Shahi and some of his colleagues are seen wearing slippers. Bulletproof jacket is also not visible.

UP STF says that a 7.65mm pistol and a 315 bore country-made pistol have been recovered from Mangesh. So the question arises that why did the policemen not wear bulletproof jackets? Did they trust Mangesh that he would not fire or was there some other reason?

8 cases were registered against Mangesh, but the weapon was never found

There were 8 cases registered against Mangesh Yadav including the Sultanpur robbery case. All the cases were of vehicle theft and robbery and one case was under the Gangster Act. Police arrested Mangesh twice. Once from Sultanpur and once from Jaunpur, but Mangesh never fired a bullet or stabbed anyone and neither did the police recover any weapon from him at the time of his arrest. But on the day of the encounter, he suddenly had weapons.

What was Mangesh doing at home after such a big incident?

According to the family, the police picked up Mangesh from his house and killed him in a fake encounter two days later. Mangesh’s father Rakesh said that if his son had committed robbery, he would have fled somewhere else, instead of staying in the house.

When Mangesh Yadav committed the robbery in broad daylight on 28 August, three of his associates were caught in an encounter, the gang leader Vipin Singh surrendered, not only this, a reward of ₹ 1 lakh was announced on him, then why was he relaxing at home. On this, the sister says that the brother did not know anything. He was thinking that when he did not do anything, then why did he run away from home.

Three were shot in the leg, but Mangesh was killed

The police arrested three criminals Pushpendra Singh, Tribhuvan Kori and Sachin Singh after injuring them in an encounter on September 1, two days after the Sultanpur robbery. On the other hand, the most dangerous and cunning criminal in this entire gang, Vipin Singh, surrendered in an old case registered in Raebareli on September 4. While, the fifth accused Mangesh Yadav was killed in an encounter.
