Former MP and Union Minister Maneka Gandhi has joined the list of those stalwarts who are not seen in Parliament this time after losing the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. At the same time, BJP did not give ticket to her son Varun Gandhi this time. Now Maneka Gandhi has challenged the election of her rival elected MP Rambhual Nishad from Sultanpur in the court. She has appealed to cancel his election.

Petition filed in High Court
According to the information, former Union Minister and former BJP MP from Sultanpur Maneka Gandhi has challenged the election of Ram Bhual Nishad, who was elected MP in Sultanpur Lok Sabha elections, in Lucknow High Court. In the petition filed in the High Court, Maneka Gandhi has appealed to cancel the election of SP MP Ram Bhual Nishad.

Senior advocate Prashant Singh Atal filed the election petition on behalf of Maneka Gandhi. The petition states that 12 cases are registered against Ram Bhual Nishad, but he has mentioned only 8 cases in the affidavit given to the Election Commission.

Maneka Gandhi could not save her seat
Let us tell you that this time BJP leader Maneka Gandhi could not save her seat from Sultanpur Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh. Here Rambhual Nishad of Samajwadi Party has won by 43174 votes. SP got 444330 votes, while BJP could get 401156 votes. On the other hand, if we talk about the results of the last Lok Sabha elections, then BJP’s Maneka Gandhi had won by 4,59,196 votes.

Who is MP Ram Bhual Nishad?
Ram Bhual Nishad was earlier in BJP, but later joined SP. According to the affidavit given in Lok Sabha elections, 8 criminal cases are registered against him. His age is 64 years. In the affidavit given in Lok Sabha elections, he has mentioned agricultural produce and political pension as his source of income. Ram Bhual Nishad has also been an MLA twice from Kaudiram assembly seat.

He has also been the Minister of State for Fisheries in the BSP government in Uttar Pradesh in the year 2007. Ram Bhual is considered to have a very good hold in Gorakhpur, Sultanpur and its surrounding areas. In 2012, he had sought a ticket from the BJP from Gorakhpur Rural, but Vipin Singh was given the ticket in his place. He was upset with the BJP due to this.

He has also contested elections against CM Yogi
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Rambhual Nishad stood against the current UP CM Adityanath Yogi, but could not win and finished third. After this, he got a ticket from BSP, but after his controversial statements, his ticket was cut. In 2019, SP gave him a ticket and made him an MP candidate from Gorakhpur, but BJP’s Ravi Kishan won. After this, in 2024, SP gave him a ticket from Sultanpur. He has won from Sultanpur on SP ticket.
