Gadchiroli: Two female Naxalites surrendered before the police on Thursday in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. There is a total reward of Rs 16 lakh on both of them. Both of them were involved in various encounters with security forces.

What is the whole matter?

Officials said the two surrendered Naxalites have been identified as 36-year-old Pramila Sukhram Boga alias Manjubai and 34-year-old Akhila Shankar Pudo alias Ratnamala. They said both surrendered before the officials of Gadchiroli Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Pramila and Akhila had a reward of Rs 8 lakh each

A statement issued by the Gadchiroli Superintendent of Police said that both the Naxalites were members of the Platoon Party Committee, which is a banned Maoist organization. It said that Pramila Boga is named in 40 cases, out of which 20 are related to encounters and two to arson. The statement said that a reward of Rs 8 lakh was announced on Pramila.

How many Naxalites have surrendered so far

It said that there are seven cases against Akhila and four of these are murder cases. The statement said that there are two encounter cases against Akhila and there is a reward of Rs 8 lakh on her too. Boga and Pudo will get Rs 5 lakh each for their rehabilitation as per the government policy. According to the police, 21 notorious Naxalites have surrendered before the Gadchiroli police since 2022.
