Pooja Khedkar is a trainee IAS of 2023 batch

A case has been registered against her under the Arms Act in Pune rural police jurisdiction on the complaint of a local farmer. Recently, Pooja was transferred from Pune to Washim district after a series of controversies. The central government has formed a committee to investigate these allegations. Earlier on Saturday, Pooja Khedkar refused to comment on the formation of a panel by the Center to investigate her candidature. Pooja Khedkar, who was transferred from Pune to Washim after the allegations, said that she has no right to speak on this matter. She said that I have no right to say anything on this matter. According to government rules, I am not allowed to speak on this matter.

The controversy surrounding 2023 batch trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar in Maharashtra has deepened with fresh allegations against her and her family. Pooja is accused of misusing her authority and submitting fake disability and caste certificates to pass the civil services exam. She has been accused of several counts of corruption, including unauthorised use of a vehicle fitted with beacon lights and demanding privileges such as a separate office, official vehicle and staff, which are not usually given to trainee officers.

Pooja Khedkar did not reach AIIMS citing Covid infection

On Thursday, the central government constituted a single-member committee to verify Khedkar’s candidature claims and other details following a controversy over alleged misuse of power by him as a civil servant. The Personnel Ministry made the announcement in a statement, stressing that the committee is headed by a senior officer of the level of Additional Secretary under the Central government and will submit its report in two weeks. The IAS trainee was also accused of removing the nameplate of a senior officer at the Pune Collector’s office after he allowed her to use his antechamber as her office.

Khedkar had allegedly submitted fake disability and Other Backward Class (OBC) certificates to clear the civil services exam. Reports claimed that he had also submitted a certificate of mental illness. In April 2022, he was asked to report to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, for verification of his disability certificate, but he did not do so, citing Covid infection.
