There was a huge explosion in Amravati Central Jail

Amravati Central Jail, A massive explosion took place in Maharashtra’s Amravati Central Jail. According to initial investigation, the explosion occurred due to throwing a country-made bomb or firecracker inside a ball inside the jail. However, there have been no casualties in this incident so far. The incident is said to have taken place at around 8.30 pm on Saturday night. As soon as the information about the incident was received, Police Commissioner Naveenchandra Reddy reached the spot. Apart from him, many top police officials including the DCP reached the spot.

The bomb disposal squad and forensic team reached the spot. Police is investigating the matter. Initial investigation has revealed that someone had filled a firecracker or explosive in a plastic cricket ball and thrown it from the wall behind the jail. One ball exploded while the other was found intact. Police is searching for the person who threw the explosive ball through CCTV. The type of gunpowder used in the explosion will be known after forensic investigation.
