Both Deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar were present in this meeting. This meeting at the CM residence lasted for about one and a half hours. After the meeting ended at around 2 o’clock in the night, Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar left the CM residence.

It is being told that in this meeting, the situation of torrential rains and floods in Maharashtra was discussed. Along with this, the assembly elections were also discussed in the meeting. So far, there has been no consensus on seat sharing between the three parties BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and NCP (Ajit Pawar) regarding the assembly elections.

But the main agenda of this meeting is said to be rain and floods. Due to heavy rains in many areas including Mumbai, Pune, Thane and Palghar, roads are flooded. All schools and colleges have been closed on Friday in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Due to rain, not only flights are getting delayed, but there is also a problem in the movement of trains.

According to officials, many areas of Mumbai received more than 100 mm of rain in 9 hours on Thursday. During this time, 157 mm of rain fell in Malpa Dongri area of ​​Andheri. Whereas, 155 mm of rain fell in Paspoli of Powai and 154 mm of rain fell in Dindoshi.

Assembly elections are to be held in Maharashtra in a few months, but till now there is no consensus on seat sharing in the Mahayuti alliance.

NCP (AP) chief Ajit Pawar has claimed to contest on 80 to 90 seats. Whereas, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) has its eyes on about 100 seats. Whereas, BJP has made up its mind to contest on 160 to 170 seats.

When are elections to be held in Maharashtra?

Assembly elections are to be held in Maharashtra this year. The term of the assembly will end on 26 November this year. Elections will be held for 288 assembly seats here in October-November.

In the last election, BJP got 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, NCP 54 and Congress 44 seats. However, after the election, Shiv Sena broke away from NDA and formed the government with NCP-Congress. Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray became the Chief Minister.

In June 2022, there was an internal strife in Shiv Sena. After this, Eknath Shinde broke away 40 MLAs of the party. Eknath Shinde became the Chief Minister with the support of BJP. Now Shiv Sena has split into two factions. Sharad Pawar’s NCP has also split into two factions – Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar. Sharad Pawar has recently claimed that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (NCP (SP) + Congress + Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction)) will win 225 seats in this year’s elections in Maharashtra.
