The police has made a shocking revelation in the case of robbery of more than 50 lakhs in a jewellery shop in Baghsewania area of Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh (9 August). According to the police, the main accused in this robbery is an Agniveer Jawan in the Indian Army and is currently posted in Pathankot. Officials said that he was currently on leave in Bhopal to visit his sister and brother-in-law.
Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra said that the masterminds of the robbery, Akash Rai and Mohit Singh Baghel, are brother-in-law and brother-in-law. According to the Police Commissioner, Mohit Singh Baghel is an Agniveer soldier in the Indian Army and is currently posted in Pathankot. Bhopal Police has also sought information about Mohit Singh Baghel from the Army. Officials say that they are collecting all the information about the accused.
Actually, on Tuesday, two people entered a jewellery shop in Bhopal’s Baghsewania area and looted the shop owner by showing a gun. During this, one of the accused also attacked the shopkeeper with a knife. The video of this incident also surfaced. After this, both the accused ran away after looting the jewellery and cash kept in the shop worth more than Rs 50 lakh.
The Police Commissioner said that considering the seriousness of the incident, a reward of Rs. 50,000 was announced for the arrest of the accused. 4 separate teams were formed. More than 400 CCTV footages were scanned within a radius of 20 kilometres of the crime spot.
Officials said that a suspect youth Mohit Singh Baghel was identified from the CCTV footage and when he was questioned strictly, he confessed to the robbery. Mohit Singh Baghel said that he is an Agniveer in the Indian Army. These days he had come to the house of his sister and brother-in-law living in Baghsewania area.
Police officials say that when Mohit was questioned strictly, he admitted that he had planned the robbery with the intention of paying off his brother-in-law’s house loan and then enjoying the remaining money. According to the police, Mohit had done a recce of the shop at night. After this, he planned the robbery.
Both of them had hidden the looted money and jewellery at different places. The police have also made those people accused, at whose place these goods were kept. Police said that a total of 7 people have been made accused.
Names of the arrested accused and their role in the incident:
(1) Akash Rai- Works on contract basis in P&G company of Mandideep. Involved in robbery.
(2) Mohit Singh Baghel- Being an Agniveer in the army, he was posted in Pathankot. The mastermind of the incident.
(3) Vikas Rai- The main accused is the brother of Akash Rai and works in a private company. The accused kept the looted goods with himself. The vehicle used in the incident also belongs to him.
(4) Monica Rai- Sister of main accused Akash Rai. Works as a beauty parlor operator. Monica kept the looted goods with herself.
(5) Amit Rai- Brother-in-law of main accused Akash Rai. Works as a supervisor in Think Gas Company. The accused kept the looted goods with himself.
(6)) Gayatri Rai- mother of main accused Akash Rai. Kept the looted goods with herself
(7) Abhay Mishra- Friend of main accused Mohit Baghel. Provided pistol to Mohit.
