Lucknow: SUV driven on the platform of Charbagh railway station, passengers ran away to save their lives, act of drunk youth

A shocking incident came to light in Lucknow, where late at night two youths drove an SUV (Tata Safari) on platform number one of Charbagh railway station. This incident caused chaos on the platform. Seeing the SUV coming towards them, the passengers waiting for the train started running here and there. It is being said that they drove the vehicle on the platform under the influence of alcohol. At present, both the youths have been arrested.

According to the information, after 12 o’clock at night, two youths named Hitesh and Shivansh brought the SUV to the platform through the parcel loader ramp outside the Charbagh railway station. After this, they started driving the SUV at high speed on the platform of the railway station. This created a stampede-like situation.

When the railway police caught both of them, it was found that both were in an inebriated state and both were residents of Lucknow. After this, the railway police sent both of them to the district hospital of Lucknow for blood test.

In this case, RPF Inspector Ranjeet Kumar said that both the youths were in an inebriated state. Their blood samples have been sent for testing. Also, a case was registered against both the accused and they were presented before the magistrate of the railway court. After the hearing, Hitesh was sent to jail while Shivansh, who was with him, got bail. The Tata Safari car has been seized in the case.

Question on security arrangements at station

It is worth noting that there is always a crowd of passengers on platform number one of Charbagh railway station. In such a situation, reaching the platform with an SUV and then driving it exposes the negligence of RPF and GRP. The incident also raises questions on the security arrangements of the railway station. Thankfully, no major accident occurred.

However, this is not the first incident at Charbagh station. Earlier, a minister’s driver had driven his car up to the ramp of the escalator near the railway court. The RPF had filed a case in that case and action was taken against the driver.
