Indal Rawat, who was a Samajwadi Party MLA from Malihabad seat of Lucknow, has been arrested by the police in a case of cheating a real estate company and embezzling crores of rupees. Indal Rawat, who was an MLA from 2012 to 2017, has been arrested by the Gomti Nagar Police.
It is alleged that the land for which the deal was made with the real estate company was not in the name of Indal Rawat, yet Indal had done the deal. During the last 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Indal had left the Samajwadi Party and joined the Congress.
Let us tell you that Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar Police has arrested former SP MLA Indal Rawat after 5 months of investigation. On 21 February 2024, an FIR was lodged in Gomti Nagar police station by Rajesh Pandey, MD of Shri Raj Infra Housing Private Limited.

According to this FIR, on 11 August 2014, Indal Rawat had to enter into an agreement with Raj Infra Housing Private Limited to build a 6-storey building on one bigha, 15 biswa land in Batha village of Sadar tehsil. But due to the amount being less, a registered agreement was made in June 2023 by depositing Rs 42 lakh 8,882. Indal Rawat had taken Rs 2 crore 52 lakh from the real estate company from 2014 to 2023.
When Raj Infra Housing Private Limited contacted Awas Vikas for construction work, it was found that the land given by Indal Rawat was registered in the name of Ashiana Sahakari Vikas Samiti in 1991 itself. This land was not even registered in the name of Indal Rawat.
On this, the owner of the real estate company Rajesh Pandey contacted Indal Rawat and when he was told that the land was not registered in his name, Indal said that his name was not registered by mistake and it will be registered in a few days. But even after that the land was not registered in Indal’s name. On this Rajesh Pandey started demanding his money back, then Indal Rawat started abusing him, threatened to kill him and threatened to get him trapped in a fake case.
Rajesh Pandey, owner of Raj Infra Housing Private Limited, filed an FIR in this case in February 2024. He gave the relevant documents to the police. The police investigated it for 5 months and now after the investigation, Indal Rawat has been arrested.
