Many people on social media were emotional after seeing what happened in a police station in Jaipur, Rajasthan the previous day. In fact, when the police handed over the child, who was allegedly kidnapped for 14 months, from the kidnapper to the parents, the child started crying in the kidnapper’s lap. The child was not ready to go away from him. In fact, the person who is accused of kidnapping the child is named Tanuj Chahar. Tanuj was posted as a head constable in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh.
The boy Tanuj is accused of kidnapping was an acquaintance of the child’s mother. He was having an affair with her. Tanuj has claimed that the child is his. During interrogation, it has also come to light that Tanuj wanted to keep the child’s mother with him along with the child. It is alleged that when the child’s mother, i.e. Tanuj’s girlfriend, refused to live together, Tanuj kidnapped the child.
Accused Tanuj is married and has a 21-year-old son from his first wife. He left his wife for his girlfriend, who has now filed a maintenance case against Tanuj.

Police say that Tanuj was having an affair with the child’s mother. The girl’s family had quietly arranged the girl’s marriage in Jaipur. Tanuj could not forget his girlfriend, so he went to Jaipur and after finding out, he befriended his girlfriend’s husband. Then he started visiting her home. He spent nights on the footpath for a year.
Meanwhile, the girlfriend told the whole thing to her husband. After a few months, she got pregnant and gave birth to a child. Then she broke off her relationship with Tanuj. Disputes and fights started. Tanuj kept talking about adopting her.

According to the complaint filed by the child’s mother, Tanuj kidnapped the child from Jaipur on 14 June 2023. After this, Tanuj disappeared and roamed the streets of Vrindavan in the guise of a sadhu. After receiving the complaint, Rajasthan Police started searching for him. During this time, Tanuj used to call the child’s mother to inquire about her well-being. He became a sadhu while roaming around. His appearance changed. He used to get new clothes and toys for the child.
When Tanuj kidnapped the child, he was 11 months old. Now he is two years old. The child stayed with Tanuj for the last 14 months. Tanuj took complete care of him. Bought toys for him, bought clothes for him. Kept roaming from one place to another holding him close to his chest.
Meanwhile, the child became so attached to Tanuj that he was not ready to leave him even for a moment. The child did not even want to go to his mother. When the police took the child from Tanuj’s lap, the child cried a lot after being separated from him, while Tanuj also had tears in his eyes.
