Cheney served as part of the GOP House leadership before being ousted in 2021 and later losing her primary in Wyoming in 2022 to a candidate backed by former President Donald Trump. She is the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, who married former President George W. Served with Bush.
The former Republican congresswoman made the endorsement during a speaking event at Duke University. There, calling herself a “conservative,” she reiterated her stance that Trump is a “threat” to democracy.
