LIVE: Situation will worsen due to doctors’ strike! OPD also closed from today, doctors on the streets across the country after Kolkata rape-murder case

After the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata, doctors across the country are angry. Thousands of resident doctors are protesting on the streets. They have announced to stop work until the victim gets justice. Meanwhile, the situation in government hospitals across the country may worsen from today, because resident doctors have also announced to close OPD from today.

The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has called for a nationwide protest and closure of OPD and elective services from today, i.e. August 13. Earlier this protest started in West Bengal after the sexual assault and murder of a female postgraduate trainee (PGT) doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9, but it spread across the country in no time.

The body was found in the seminar hall

On August 9, the body of a female doctor was found in the seminar hall of Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital. Since then, doctors have been demanding justice for the victim in this case. A 31-year-old postgraduate trainee doctor posted on duty at the government RG Kar Medical College and Hospital was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered on the night of August 8. Officials recovered the half-naked body of the second-year student from the seminar hall of the Chest Medicine Department, which bore multiple injury marks.

This was revealed in the postmortem report

Recently, the post-mortem report of this case has also come out. This report talks about the nature of the murder and sexual penetration before it. It is told that the victim was killed by strangulation. She was raped before that. The accused strangled her twice. She died between 3 and 5 in the morning.

Addicted to watching pornographic movies after drinking alcohol

The accused is also in custody, while police sources say that the accused criminal Sanjay Roy was addicted to watching pornographic films while drinking alcohol. He had come inside the hospital several times on the night of the incident. Many sensational things have come to light on the basis of interrogation of the accused, circumstantial evidence and CCTV footage. Through police interrogation and CCTV footage, the timeline of this entire case has come to light, along with what conclusion the investigation has reached so far.
