Like lateral entry and creamy layer, the government will have to withdraw the Waqf Amendment Bill, said Asaduddin Owaisi

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) National President Asaduddin Owaisi said that we have decided to meet the Chief Ministers of non-BJP ruled states. In this connection, we met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The amendment related to the Waqf Bill is against the Constitution. A person holding a constitutional post in Kolkata lives in a house with a rent of only Rs 150, I mentioned this in my speech in Parliament in 2013.

Owaisi said, ‘Modi government wants to dissolve Waqf. Waqf property is not government or public property, but private property. Why are you considering it public property? What grants are you giving to the Waqf Board? Which state government in the country gives grants to the Waqf Board?

Owaisi further said that I challenge Narendra Modi, Section-3 of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Act 1983 says that no person can be a member of the board if he is not a Hindu by religion. Section 6 says that if a member cannot perform the duties as a Hindu, then only a Hindu will be appointed in his place.

‘BJP is spreading false propaganda…’

Owaisi says that the Waqf Amendment violates Articles 15, 25 of the Constitution. This amendment is to destroy Waqf properties, not to protect them. The AIMIM MP further said that like lateral entry and Dalit creamy layer, the government will have to withdraw this Waqf Amendment Bill as well. BJP is spreading false propaganda that no one can go against the Waqf Tribunal, this is wrong, it can be challenged in the High Court.
