Lift stuck on third floor in Greater Noida, 10 people including school children stuck for 30 minutes

The incidents of people getting stuck in lifts are increasing continuously in Greater Noida West. A major incident was averted on Monday morning at 14th Avenue, Gaur City 2. There were 10 people in the lift including school children and women. The lift suddenly got stuck on the third floor. About 30 minutes after the complaint, the maintenance department staff arrived and took the people out of the lift.

Residents of the society say that despite paying a hefty maintenance fee, no repairs are being done in the lift. Cases of people getting stuck in lifts are increasing. This has created an atmosphere of fear among people. Jagdish Pathak, a resident of 14th Avenue, Gaur City 2, said that on Monday morning, the lift suddenly stopped with a jerk on the third floor. At that time, 10 people, including school children and women, were in the lift.

The automatic rescue device (ARD) system of the lift had completely failed. Due to this, to save the people trapped in the lift, the security personnel and maintenance staff had to manually open the lift and take the people out. It took about 30 minutes for the people trapped in the lift to come out. After this, people came out of the lift with great difficulty.

Nefoma President Annu Khan said that the Uttar Pradesh government has implemented the Lift Act, but the situation is still not improving. On Monday, children and women were stuck in the lift for 30 minutes while going to school in 14th Avenue of Gaur City 2. Everyone was taken out after a lot of difficulty.

Even after the implementation of the Lift Act, people still do not know where to complain about it. People still do not know to whom they should complain to the District Magistrate, Greater Noida Authority or the police about the increasing number of lifts in Greater Noida West.

However, after people got stuck in the lift in Gaur City, the residents have complained to the Bisrakh police station in this matter. There are hundreds of societies in Greater Noida West, in which lakhs of people are living. There is an atmosphere of fear among the residents due to the daily incidents in the lift.
