Lady doctor was brutalized in Kolkata, clues were found from Bluetooth earbuds, police reached the culprit like this

The accused in the case of brutality against a lady doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, has been sent to 14 days of police custody. After arresting the accused under Section 64 (rape) and 103 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code, the police produced him in the Sealdah court. Police custody was sought for his interrogation.

The judge accepted the prosecution’s request and sent the accused to 14-day police custody till August 23. The victim’s body was found inside the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College in north Kolkata on Friday. According to the preliminary post-mortem report, she was sexually assaulted before being killed. She was brutally treated.

Police said that the arrested accused is from outside the institute. He used to easily visit most of the departments of the hospital. His activities are very suspicious. He seems to be directly involved in the crime. Police had found a torn part of a Bluetooth earbud. Through this clue, they were able to reach the accused. Many doctors have also identified the culprit from CCTV footage.

The accused is a civic volunteer, this is their work

Sources have revealed that the name of the accused is Sanjay Roy, who is a civic volunteer by profession. Such volunteers are contractual employees who assist police personnel in the respective police units for traffic management. They also assist the police during major festivals in the state and at places where there is unauthorized parking of vehicles. Such people work for the police.

Police team engaged in search of accomplices of the accused

A police officer said, “Now we are trying to find out who else was with the accused. Necessary medical tests can be conducted on them. In connection with the investigation of the death of the woman doctor, the police also questioned two intern doctors on Friday night. The deceased was a second year student of the Department of Medicine and was on duty on Thursday night. There were injury marks on her body.

Blood was flowing from the private part, the body was in such a condition

According to the autopsy report, the victim was bleeding from both eyes and mouth. There were injuries on her face and nails were stuck. There was blood flowing from her private part as well. There were injuries on her stomach, left leg, neck, right hand and little finger and lips. The neck bone is also broken. There is a possibility that she was raped and then murdered. The incident is said to have taken place between 3 and 6 am on Friday.

Mamta Banerjee said- this is a personal loss for me

Reacting to this incident, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, “This is like a personal loss for me. Their (resident doctors’) anger and demands are justified. I support it. The police have also accepted their demands. I was in Jhargram yesterday, but was keeping an eye on all the developments. I have spoken to the victim’s family. I have assured appropriate action.”

‘If necessary, the accused will be hanged’

The Chief Minister said, “I have directed to take this case to a fast-track court. If needed, the accused will be hanged, although I am not a supporter of the death penalty. But they should get the harshest punishment. One accused has been arrested. We have ensured that not a single doctor protesting over this incident faces any problem.”
