Kidnapping of a girl, foreign number and conspiracy… 6 year old innocent rescued from India-Nepal border

The police rescued a 6-year-old innocent girl who was kidnapped from Delhi, safely from the Indo-Nepal border. The police have arrested five people, including her relatives, on charges of kidnapping the girl. The girl was missing for the last three days.

Giving information in this case, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) M Harshvardhan told PTI that the 6-year-old girl went missing on August 27, when she went from her house to a general store to buy some goods at around 8.30 pm.

According to the DCP, the girl’s father told the police that his daughter neither reached the store nor returned home. Later, the family received voice messages on WhatsApp from a Malaysian number demanding ransom. After this, the family was shocked and they contacted the police.

Based on the complaint of the girl’s father, an FIR was registered at Delhi’s IP Estate Police Station and an investigation was started. Police said that during the investigation, the police analyzed more than 300 CCTV footage and phone numbers, which led them to the location of Sitamarhi in Bihar.

Local intelligence and detailed interrogation of family members also revealed information about money transactions. Police said that it was found that a relative of the girl also hails from Sitamarhi.

Police said that Krishnan was then questioned, in which he revealed that he, his wife Shahida and three other accomplices had planned to kidnap the girl. The accused further revealed that Shahida lured the girl with chocolates and took her to a nearby shop.

DCP Vardhan said that after this he handed over the girl to his companions – Pintu, Sushil and Sunita, who were waiting in a car at some distance. After this they took the girl to Bihar. He said that after examining the call details of the accused, the police came to know that the girl was being taken to Nepal via Sitamarhi.

The police team immediately reached Sitamarhi and rescued the girl. Vardhan said that they have arrested Pintu, Sushil and Sunita on the India-Nepal border. They were taking the girl to Pintu’s relatives’ house in Nepal.

During interrogation, the accused told the police that the girl’s uncle Shakeel Ansari, who lives in Nepal, owed Krishnan money. Police said that Krishnan had kidnapped the girl to extort the money. Police have arrested five people in this case.

The arrested accused include the girl’s maternal uncle, Krishnan (39) and aunt Shahida (25), who, along with their accomplices Pintu, Sushil and Sunita, had planned to kidnap the girl for ransom.
