Kid Rock took the stage at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Thursday night, delivering a high-energy performance of his hit song “Devil Without a Cause”. The Michigan-born rapper and singer, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, warmed up at the Fiserv Forum earlier in the day, complete with patriotic lights and a visible “Trump Vance” sign.
Kid Rock, who has leaned into conservative politics in recent years, aligned himself with former President Trump’s causes[1][4]. In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday afternoon, he expressed his support for Trump, calling him a “100% American badass president”.
The performance was part of the convention’s theme for the final day, “Make America Great Once Again”. Trump is expected to expand on the party’s proposed policies on border security, trade, and foreign policy during his speech later in the evening.
As Kid Rock belted out the lyrics to his 1998 breakout hit, the crowd erupted in cheers. Former President Trump and former First Lady Melania Trump were spotted in the audience, swaying to the music and singing along.
