Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh of ‘Waris Punjab De’ released from jail, took oath as MP

Amritpal Singh, Khalistan supporter and head of ‘Waris Punjab De’ Amritpal Singh has come out of jail. On Friday, he was brought to Delhi from Dibrugarh jail in Assam. According to media reports, he has taken oath as MP in Delhi. No photo or video of this has been released. Let us tell you, Amritpal Singh, who won the Lok Sabha elections from Khadoor Sahib constituency of Punjab, has been given four days parole for taking oath.

Officials said that Amritpal Singh was taken from Dibrugarh jail to the airport in the early hours amid tight security. After this he was brought to Delhi. An official said that an eight-member team of Punjab Police led by a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) level officer reached Dibrugarh jail on Thursday afternoon to take Amritpal Singh. From there, a team of Assam Police and district administration took him from the jail to the airport.

Parole has been granted on these conditions

Amritpal Singh was arrested on 23 April last year under the National Security Act. He has been in jail since then. After becoming a Lok Sabha MP, he has been granted parole for taking oath. According to the conditions laid down in the parole order issued by the District Magistrate of Amritsar in Punjab, Amritpal Singh, his relatives or family members will not make any statement to the media during his stay in the national capital. Along with this, he has also been instructed that he will stay away from activities that endanger national security.

Won the election by 1.97 lakh votes

In the Lok Sabha elections, Amritpal Singh won the Khadoor Sahib seat as an independent candidate by defeating Congress’ Kulbir Singh Zira by 1.97 lakh votes. Ten members of the organization, including Amritpal and one of his relatives, have been in jail for more than a year. These people were arrested under the National Security Act from different parts of Punjab.
