Khaki again shamed in UP, constable posted in Banda jail arrested, accused of demanding ransom of Rs 1 crore

Once again the khaki uniform has been disgraced in UP, constable Ajit Gautam posted in Banda jail has been arrested by the police. The constable has been accused of kidnapping a boy from the neighbourhood and demanding a ransom of Rs 1 crore. Mathura police has arrested the constable and sent him to jail. This has been confirmed by Banda jail’s jailor Rajesh Kumar. The jailor also told that on August 4, the constable had gone home on leave.

Actually, constable Ajit Gautam was posted in Banda jail. He had a dispute with his neighbour Ramkumar. According to the victim Ramkumar, “My son was studying and I was in the field. During that time, constable Ajit Gautam from the neighbourhood came with a gun and threatened me saying- Give me one crore rupees, otherwise I will kidnap your son. If you don’t give me the money, I will get your son killed.”

When the victim refused, the constable allegedly fired in the air. After this, he threatened- “If you do not give the money in two days, I will get you killed. I have made a complete plan. If you complain to the police, I will kill the whole family.”

The victim also told that he wants to sell a valuable piece of land at a place. Constable Ajit Gautam is aware of this. After the incident, the victim filed a case in Jait police station of Mathura district. After which the Jait police station has arrested the accused constable with a pistol and sent him to jail and has started further investigation and action.

Banda Jail’s Jailor Rajesh Kumar said that constable Ajit Gautam was posted in Banda Jail for 6 to 7 months. He went home on leave on 4th August, after which some incident took place there, and Mathura Police has arrested him. Police is now taking further legal action.
