Kerala News: Landslide amid heavy rains in Wayanad, Kerala, more than 100 people buried under debris, 2 Air Force helicopters dispatched

A landslide has occurred in Wayanad, Kerala amid heavy rains. More than 100 people are trapped in it. A large-scale rescue operation is being carried out to save the people.

According to the information, the landslide occurred at around 2 am on Tuesday morning. After this, a landslide occurred again at around 4.10 am. According to the news agency, more than 100 people got trapped in the debris due to the landslide, rescue operations are being conducted to take them out.

16 people were hospitalized after the accident

16 people injured in the landslide have been admitted to a private hospital in Meppadi, Wayanad. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is also keeping an eye on the matter. He has said that all possible rescue operations will be coordinated after the landslide in Wayanad. As soon as the incident came to light, the government machinery got involved in the rescue operation. State ministers may visit the spot today.

According to the CMO of the area, a landslide has occurred in Wayanad after heavy rains. The National Health Mission has set up a control room here. Helpline numbers 9656938689 and 8086010833 have also been issued for emergency assistance. Two Air Force helicopters Mi-17 and one ALH will be dispatched from Sulur in Tamil Nadu at 7.30 am.
