Katyusha Rocket: Hezbollah is using weapons from the Second World War, attacking Israel with Russian rockets

Hezbollah continuously attacked Israel with more than 320 rockets and drones. In this attack, Hezbollah used the Russian-made Katyusha Multiple Rocket Launcher. The target was northern Israel and the Golan Heights. Some of these rockets were also intercepted by the Iron Dome.

Many Hezbollah rockets fell in open areas. One rocket even fell in a poultry farm in Israel. Katyusha rockets have been in use since the Second World War. For example, the First Indo-China War, Korean War, Vietnam War, Iran-Iraq War, Libya and Syria War and now between Israel and Hezbollah.

This rocket is being made since 1941. More than one lakh rockets have been made so far. There are many variants of Katyusha rocket. Therefore, each variant has different weight and caliber. For example, there are 8 variants ranging from 82 mm to 300 mm. Their weight varies accordingly. From 640 grams to 28.9 kilograms.

Range from 3 to 12 km, can be launched from anything

Accordingly, their range is also from 2800 meters to 11,800 meters. That is, from about three kilometers to 12 kilometers. Russia was engaged in making this rocket since 1928. The first rocket was tested in March 1928. It fell after going 1300 meters. After this, it was further upgraded. The interesting thing is that to launch it, you can use truck, tractor, tank, car, boat, sledge, trawler or tripod.

It is also called BM-13?

This rocket, made during the Soviet era, is also called BM-13. A BM-13 battery has firing vehicles with four to six soldiers. Two for firing and two for loading. This launcher can destroy any area by continuously launching rocket attacks. It can change its position before the enemy attacks it.
