Karnataka: Woman accuses BJP leader of sexual harassment, FIR registered

In Karnataka, BJP leader and Hindutva activist Arun Kumar Puthila has been accused of sexual harassment by a 47-year-old woman. An FIR has been registered at the Dakshina Kannada Women’s Police Station under sections 417, 354A and 506 of the IPC. The incident allegedly took place in June 2023 at the Pai Vista Hotel in Bengaluru.

The woman who filed the complaint has alleged that Puttila took photographs, selfies and videos during the attack. These were then used to blackmail her. Arun Kumar Puttila made his mark by contesting the Puttur assembly elections as a rebel candidate against the BJP and later joined the BJP before the Lok Sabha elections.

A young woman was kidnapped and raped in Udupi

Last month in August, a shameful incident came to light in Udupi, Karnataka. Here a girl was kidnapped and raped. After getting information about this incident, the police team reached the spot and took stock of the situation. The police registered a case against the accused and started investigating the matter.

According to the information, this incident took place in Karkala, Udupi. Here the victim girl met a young man named Altaf through Instagram. Altaf called the girl to meet him. After this, he took the girl in the car and raped her. After committing the crime, the accused Altaf was going to leave the girl. At that time, local Hindu activists stopped the car. The girl was in an intoxicated state in the car.
