Captain Vikram Batra was an officer of the 13th Battalion, Jammu and Kashmir Rifles of the Indian Army. Vikram Batra played an important role in the victory of the Kargil War. After winning a peak, he said ‘Yeh Dil Maange More’. With such a hunger for victory, Captain Batra became a nightmare for the enemies. Displaying his bravery, he played an important role in recapturing Point 5140 in the Dras sector and was martyred while fighting bravely with the enemies on another peak. Captain Vikram Batra was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for extraordinary bravery.

Lt. Manoj Kumar Pandey

The valour of Lieutenant Manoj Kumar Pandey, who wrote the story of valour, is recorded in golden letters. The supreme sacrifice of Captain Manoj Pandey of the Gorkha Regiment changed the direction of the Kargil war. Before being martyred, he had destroyed three enemy bunkers. Manoj Kumar Pandey, who hoisted the Indian flag on the peak of Khalubar, was awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously.

Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav

Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav, who was part of the 18th Grenadiers Regiment, played a key role in the Kargil War. He led the Indian attacks on Tiger Hill. He was seriously injured during the war. Despite this, Yadav moved forward demonstrating extraordinary bravery and leadership. Equipped with a strong and rock-solid resolve, Yadav was hit by 15 bullets, despite this he continued to fight. At the age of just 19, he was awarded the Param Vir Chakra.

Rifleman Sanjay Kumar

The fourth name of bravery is of Rifleman Sanjay Kumar. Rifleman Sanjay Kumar attacked the enemy at the flat top area of ​​Point 4875 in Mashkoh Valley without caring for his life. In this face-to-face fight, Sanjay Kumar killed 3 enemy intruders, but he himself got injured. Without caring about his wounds, he attacked the enemy’s second bunker. The intruders started running away leaving the universal machine gun. Rifleman Sanjay Kumar took charge of this machine gun and killed the fleeing enemy. Seeing this courage of Rifleman Sanjay Kumar, the Indian Army awarded him its highest honor, the Param Vir Chakra.
