Kanpur: Deputy director drowned in Ganga river, divers kept transferring 10 thousand rupees instead of saving his life

A shameful incident has come to light from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The diver was not ready to rescue a person without taking money, due to which Aditya Vardhan Singh, Deputy Director of Health Department, died by drowning. His friends asked for help from the divers, but the divers demanded 10 thousand rupees. By the time the friends transferred the money online, Aditya Vardhan Singh had died.

According to the information, on Saturday, Aditya Aditya Vardhan Singh, Deputy Director of Health Department of UP, a resident of Unnao, went to take a bath in the Ganga with his friend Pradeep Tiwari at Nana Mau Ghat in Kanpur. His friends say that he asked to take a photo. While taking the photo, suddenly his foot went into a pit in the river and he started drowning.

The diver was not ready to save without taking money

Seeing him drowning, his friends immediately asked the divers standing on the ghat to save him. The divers said give us 10 thousand rupees first. The friends said that we do not have cash. We will transfer it online, but the divers first asked to transfer it online to the account of the shopkeeper next door, Shailesh Kashyap.

As soon as 10 thousand rupees were transferred, divers came forward to rescue him, but by then Aditya Vardhan Singh had drowned in the Ganga. Let us tell you that Aditya Vardhan Singh lived in Indira Nagar, Lucknow. His sister and parents are also abroad. His brother, Bihar government secretary Anupam Singh had arrived at the spot. His wife Shailaja Mishra is a judge in Maharashtra.

As soon as the information was received, the police administration, SDRF team and divers came to find Aditya Vardhan Singh, but his body was not found till night. Shailesh Gautam, who took the money, says, the divers were asking for money. They did not have an account, so they transferred the money to my account. Which I have returned.

ADCP said this in the matter

ADCP Brijendra Dwivedi says, on receiving the information about Aditya Vardhan Singh drowning, the SDRF team, divers and police reached the spot. They kept searching for him till late night but his body was not found. A search operation will be launched again from morning.
