A case of blackmailing through a deepfake video of a girl has come to light in Kanpur, UP. Here, the councillor’s son made an obscene video using Artificial Intelligence (AI) of the photo sent by the girl in the name of sewing training. After this, he started blackmailing the girl by sending the video to her mobile. Troubled, the girl complained about the matter to the police. The police have arrested the youth.
According to the information, a girl living in Ghatampur town area of Kanpur had sent her photo to the councillor of her area, Tarana, for sewing training. The councillor had asked for the girl’s photo on her son Rizwan’s mobile. A few days later, an objectionable video was sent to the girl’s WhatsApp, in which it was said that this video would be made viral.

The girl was asked to pay Rs 20,000 to delete the video. Troubled by the blackmailing, the girl informed her family about the matter. The family complained to ACP Ranjit Kumar of Ghatampur. After this, the police made a plan and called the accused Rizwan alias Adip to a place on the pretext of giving him money by sending a message through the girl and arrested him.
What did the ACP say about the whole matter?
ACP Ranjit Kumar said that the girl had complained that she was being blackmailed by sending her objectionable videos on her mobile. The accused had made an obscene MMS of the girl’s photos and sent it to her. The accused boy has been arrested in this case. The police is also investigating the matter that the councilor had asked for photos of many girls of the area for sewing training. Whether the youth has made fake videos of other girls as well. Forensic investigation of his mobile will also be done.
