Kajari Teej 2024 Date: When will Kajari Teej fast be observed? Know the date, puja method and moonrise time

Kajari Teej 2024: Every year, Kajari Teej festival is celebrated on the third day of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. Kajari means black colour. During this time, dark clouds cover the sky. Therefore, this auspicious day is named Kajari Teej in the scriptures. On this day, there is a ritual of worshipping Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati in the form of Bhavani. On this day, worshipping Neemdi Mata is also considered very auspicious. On this day, women fast for their husbands and pray for their husbands’ long life. Unmarried girls can fast on Kajari Teej to get their desired groom.

When is Kajari Teej?
According to the Hindu calendar, the Tritiya Tithi of Bhadrapada Krishna Paksha will start on August 21 at 5:06 pm. It will end on August 22 at 1:46 pm. Due to Udiya Tithi, the fast of Kajari Teej will be observed on Thursday, August 22.

Method of worship of Kajari Teej
On the day of Kajari Teej, Neemdi Mata is specially worshipped. On this day, after taking bath in the morning, take a pledge of Nirjala Vrat. There is a ritual of worshipping Neemdi Mata on the occasion of Kajari Teej. Before the worship, a pond-like structure is made with the help of a wall using mud and cow dung and a neem twig is planted near it.

Pour raw milk and water in the pond and light a diya on the bank. Then sprinkle water on Neemdi Mata and offer her roli, rice and moli. After this, apply a tilak of roli on the Kalash of the Puja and tie a Kalawa. Then apply 13-13 dots of mehndi, roli and kajal on the wall behind Neemdi Mata with your finger.

Keep in mind that roli and mehendi bindi should be applied with the ring finger and kajal bindi with the index finger. After this, offer dakshina to Neemdi Mata along with any fruit as per your wish. Then pray to Neemdi Mata for long life of your husband and happy married life. After this, look at lemon, neem branch, cucumber, nose ring and saree pallu in the light of a lamp on the bank of a pond. Finally, offer arghya to the moon and pray for happiness and prosperity.

moonrise time
On Kajari Teej, there is a tradition of offering water to the moon after worshipping Neemdi Mata in the evening. Therefore, it is very important to know when the moon will rise on this day. According to the Hindu calendar, the moon will rise at 8:20 pm on Kajari Teej.
