Kajari Teej 2024 Date: In Sanatan Dharma, every festival is said to have special importance. But among the three Teej celebrated throughout the year, Kajari Teej is the most important. This festival is celebrated on the third day of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapad month. Kajari Teej is celebrated three days after Rakshabandhan. This time Kajari Teej fast will be observed on 22nd August. On this day, married women observe a waterless fast to wish for unbroken good fortune. Astrologers say that unmarried girls can also observe this fast to get a desired groom.

On the day of Kajari Teej, apart from Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, Neemdi Mata is also worshipped. This fast is observed almost like the fast of Karva Chauth. In this fast, married women break their fast only after offering Arghya to the moon in the evening. Every married woman will know these three things. Ingredients for Kajari Teej
Those who observe the fast of Kajari Teej should arrange for some special material a day before. Materials like a lamp, ghee, oil, camphor, incense sticks, raw cotton thread, new clothes, banana leaves, bel leaves, shami leaves, sacred thread, coconut husk, betel nut, urn, bhang, dhatura, durva grass, yellow cloth, turmeric, sandalwood, coconut, cow milk, Gangajal, curd, sugar candy, honey and panchamrit are required for its worship.

Rules of Kajari Teej

What to do on Kajari Teej?
1. There is a tradition of swinging on Kajari Teej. This tradition has been going on for centuries. One must definitely swing on this day.
2. On the day of Kajari Teej, married women should do 16 makeups. Only by doing this, one gets the fruits of the puja.
3. Green coloured clothes should be worn on Kajari Teej. If you do not have green coloured clothes then you can wear red coloured clothes.
4. On Kajari Teej, one should not sleep during the day even by mistake. Chant the name of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati throughout the day.

What not to do on Kajari Teej?
1. On the day of Kajari Teej, married women should avoid wearing white clothes as it is considered inauspicious.
2. Women fasting on this day should not consume food or water.
3. Even if you have not kept a fast, strictly avoid tamasic things like garlic, onion or meat-fish or alcohol in the house.
4. On the day of the fast, do not quarrel with your husband, do not get angry, nor use any wrong words.
