Jupiter Vs Activa: Battle of features and practicality between Jupiter and Activa! Know which is the best scooter for you

TVS Jupiter 110 vs Honda Activa Comparison: In the 80s and 90s, Bajaj Chetak emerged as a brand that became synonymous with ‘scooter’ at that time. With time, the era of two-stroke ended and automatic scooters took its place. Today, Honda Activa has the same status. It has become synonymous with scooter for the new generation. Sales reports are a witness to the fact that it is very difficult to dislodge Honda Activa from its position. But despite this, efforts are continuing.

However, TVS Motor has launched its famous model Jupiter 110 in a completely new avatar. The company has made many big changes in this scooter in terms of look, design and features which make it better than the previous model. In such a situation, questions are arising in the minds of people that which is the better option between the new Jupiter and Activa 6G. So let’s do a comparative study of these two scooters through graphics-

price:

First of all, let’s talk about the price. TVS Jupiter comes in a total of four variants including Drum, Drum Alloy, Drum Smart Connect and Disc Smart Connect. The price of which ranges from Rs 73,700 to Rs 87,250. On the other hand, Honda Activa 6G comes in three variants including Standard, Deluxe and H-Smart, the price of which ranges from Rs 76,684 to Rs 82,684 (ex-showroom).

Size Matter:

The new Jupiter 110 is based on the same platform as its bigger sibling Jupiter 125 and this is evident from its size. If we compare the size of Jupiter and Activa, the new Jupiter is longer and taller than its rival Activa 6G and its wheelbase is also 15 mm longer. The seat is also 756 mm longer than the Activa’s 692 mm, which provides more space for the rider and pillion. However, despite being bigger in size, the weight of Jupiter has not increased, rather the weight of both scooters is the same (105-106 kg).

Look and Design:

The look of TVS Jupiter has become even sharper and stylish than before. Its front has a wide LED daytime running light. Apart from this, the side profile of the scooter has also been changed a lot. It has a wide frame in the rear which makes the scooter attractive even when viewed from the rear. On the other hand, Honda Activa comes with a traditional design, it was last updated in the year 2020.

Engine and Power:

In Jupiter 110, the company has given a new 113cc engine that generates 8hp of power and 9.8Nm of torque. There is an increase of about 0.1hp in the power output. This scooter is equipped with ‘iGO Assist’ micro-hybrid technology for the first time in the segment. This system includes a more powerful battery than usual (which is charged by the engine while the scooter is slowing down) which powers the ISG motor.

In Honda Activa, the company has given a 109 cc engine which generates 7.7 bhp power and 8.9 Nm torque. It also has an H-Smart variant which has a remote function. That is, you can operate many features of Activa remotely. Both scooters have a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) gearbox.

Jupiter ahead in braking:

The special thing about Jupiter is that its top variant has the option of disc brake in the front wheel. On the other hand, drum-brake setup is provided in all variants of Activa. However, alloy wheel feature is provided in the higher variants of both scooters. Activa also has a staggered wheel layout with smaller wheels with wider rubber at the rear.

You get these features:

Talking about the features, both the scooters have broadly similar features, although both have some special features. The top variant of Jupiter has great features like LED lightbar on the front apron, digital instrument cluster, fuel filler cap inside the front apron, LCD instrument cluster and TVS’s SmartXonnect smartphone connectivity function. The most important thing is that the top-spec Jupiter is the only model in this segment that has been given mild-hybrid technology with integrated starter generator.

The most special feature for the Activa is the brand’s H-Smart technology or in simple words, the remote key-based function offered on the top variants. This system allows you to remotely lock the scooter, flash its hazard lights (Find My Scooter) and open the fuel filler lid via a remote. It also offers keyless-go functionality by eliminating the need for the rider to take the key out of his pocket to start the scooter. The top variants of the Activa also get LED headlight and engine idle start-stop technology.

TVS Motor claims that some segment first features have also been included in the new Jupiter. So it is possible that it will attract buyers of Honda Activa. These features include features like double helmet space, front fuel-cap, follow-me headlamp, infinity lamps, long seat, metal body, turn signal lamp, find my vehicle, more leg space, auto start/stop.
