Jonty Rhodes: This great cricketer was travelling in an Air India flight… found a broken seat, then the airline apologized

South African veteran cricketer Jonty Rhodes was in India for the last few days. Rhodes has shared his experience of travelling from Delhi to Mumbai during his India tour. Rhodes told through a post how he faced difficulties during his journey from Mumbai to Delhi. First, his flight arrived late at Mumbai airport. Then after boarding the plane, Rhodes found out that his seat was broken.

Jonty Rhodes also claimed that he had to sign a waiver. Rhodes said that he could not wait for the next 36 hours as he had to take a return flight from Delhi to Mumbai and a long journey to Cape Town immediately after that. Rhodes is considered one of the greatest fielders in the cricket world. The way he ran out Inzamam-ul-Haq in the 1992 World Cup is still fresh in the minds of fans.

Rhodes wrote on his X account, ‘My bad luck with air travel continues. Air India’s flight from Mumbai to Delhi was delayed by more than 1.5 hours, but now I signed a waiver as soon as I boarded the plane, which said that I accept that my seat is broken. I am not waiting for the next 36 hours because I have to return from Delhi to Mumbai and then catch a flight to Cape Town.’

After Jonty Rhodes’ post, the airline apologized and promised to investigate the entire matter. Air India said, ‘We are sorry to hear about your experience. Rest assured, we will thoroughly investigate your concerns and ensure that your feedback is shared internally.’
