John Abraham played ‘Khel’ with Akshay Kumar, came ahead for the first time in box office clash

Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Khel Khel Mein’, John Abraham’s ‘Veda’ and Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Stree 2’ were released in theatres on Thursday. While there was already a strong buzz among the public for ‘Stree 2’, this film has made a great start. At the same time, the competition between Akshay and John’s films is taking an interesting turn this time.

The films of these two Bollywood stars have been clashing at the box office since 20 years. But on the scale of stardom, Akshay is definitely a little higher than John and perhaps that is why till now he had an upper hand in clashes with John. However, in the last few years, they have had two clashes and both their films were hits. But for the first time, John seems to be leaving Akshay behind in a box office clash.

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has been struggling continuously at the box office since the lockdown. His last 10 films did not get very positive reviews. However, Akshay’s latest film ‘Khel Khel Mein’, released on Thursday, has received good reviews and people going to theatres are also liking the film. Still, there is going to be a ‘game’ with this film. SACNILC’s estimate says that Akshay’s film has collected in the range of Rs 5 crore on the first day.

There was not much excitement among the people about John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh’s film ‘Veda’, but still this film has started much better than expected at the box office. John’s film has collected more than 6.5 crore rupees on the first day.

In the clash of three films, ‘Stree 2’ has got the maximum number of screens (3000-3500). On the other hand, Akshay and John’s films have almost equal screen count (1500-2000). According to the screen count, while ‘Khel Khel Mein‘ has an average opening, ‘Veda’ seems to be making a strong start.

Both the films have received very positive reviews and this will give both the films a jump in the coming days. Akshay being above John on the scale of stardom does not seem to be working for ‘Khel Khel Mein’. Now it remains to be seen whether the public will go to the theatres with more enthusiasm after seeing the positive reviews of Akshay’s film or John’s film will come ahead in the clash this time.
