After the announcement of the dates of elections in Jammu and Kashmir, all the political parties have started preparations. In this sequence, the leader of opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has arrived on a visit to Jammu and Kashmir. On Wednesday, he had dinner at a famous restaurant located in the heart of Srinagar and later ate ice cream at a famous parlor.
According to PTI, a security official informed that Rahul Gandhi, along with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and some other party leaders, left Hotel Lalit located in the Gupkar area of the city and had dinner at Hotel Ahdoos, which is one of the best restaurants in the city and is famous for Kashmiri ‘Wazwan.
The high-profile visit to the busy Residency Road area of the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir came as a surprise to everyone present there. A security cordon was put up around the hotel located on the banks of the Jhelum river during Rahul Gandhi’s visit.
After having food at the restaurant, Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders went to Pratap Park area, located a few metres away from the famous clock tower, and ate ice cream at a famous ice cream parlour.
Let us tell you that Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge arrived on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday in view of the assembly elections. During this, many senior leaders of the party welcomed them at the airport. It is being told that both the leaders will hold important meetings regarding the three-phase assembly elections starting from September 18. They will also talk to local leaders about ticket distribution. Apart from this, there can also be discussions about alliance with local parties of Jammu and Kashmir.
