JK Assembly Elections: Three lists released after massive protests… but names of big BJP faces still missing

All the parties have started preparations for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. Tuesday was also the last day for nomination for the first phase. In such a situation, all the parties have released the list for the first phase. In the last two days, BJP has also released three lists so far. Even before these three lists, BJP had released a list. Due to which the party had to face heavy opposition.

After heavy opposition from the workers, the party released a revised list. After this, other lists were also released. But even amidst all this, the party is facing heavy opposition from the workers. The reason is that till now the party has not given tickets to some prominent faces of Jammu and Kashmir BJP. Even after the list of 45 candidates for the 90-member assembly has been released, the names of Dr. Nirmal Singh, Kavinder Gupta, Sat Sharma, state party president Ravinder Raina have not appeared in any list so far.

Nirmal Singh’s name was not announced

Dr. Nirmal Singh is a senior BJP leader. He has been a former Deputy CM and former Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly. In the 2014 elections, Nirmal Singh won from Billawar Assembly seat.

Speculation continues on Kavinder from Bahu seat

Apart from this, the party has not yet announced the name of senior BJP leader, former Deputy CM, former Speaker of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly and former Mayor of Jammu city Kavinder Gupta. Kavinder had won from Gandhi Nagar assembly seat in the year 2014. After delimitation, the name of this seat has now been changed to Bahu. Kavinder Gupta is still hopeful that he can get a place because the name of any candidate has not been announced for the Bahu seat yet.

The party has not yet given a ticket to Sat Sharma, former president of Jammu and Kashmir BJP and minister in the government. Sat Sharma had won from Jammu West assembly seat in 2014.

The situation regarding Sham Lal Choudhary, who was a minister in the PDP-BJP government, is also not clear yet. He had won from Suchetgarh assembly seat in 2014. After delimitation, Suchetgarh has become an SC reserved seat.

The name of senior BJP leader and former minister Chaudhary Sukhnandan is also not clear yet. He won from Marh assembly seat in 2014. Marh is now an SC reserved seat.

Apart from this, the party has not yet given a ticket to Ajay Nanda, who won from Reasi assembly seat in 2014. He has also been a minister in the state government.

The name of the state party president is also not clear

At the same time, the party’s state president Ravinder Raina has also not been given a ticket yet. Ravinder, who won from Nowshera assembly seat of Rajouri district in 2014, has not been finalized yet. However, the candidate for Nowshera has not been announced yet. Let us tell you that the party wants Ravinder Raina to contest from Nowshera. But Raina wants to contest from some other seat. The party is adamant that he should contest from Nowshera. There is also a discussion that he may refuse to contest the elections.

Elections will be held in three phases

Let us tell you that the Election Commission had announced the election dates a few days ago for voting on 90 assembly seats of the state. Voting will be held in Jammu and Kashmir on 18 September, 25 September and 1 October. Assembly elections will be held in 3 phases in the Union Territory which is sensitive from the security point of view. The results of the assembly elections will come on 4 October. Voting is to be held on 24 seats in the first phase, 26 seats in the second phase and 40 seats in the third phase.

Pampore, Tral, Pulwama, Rajpora, Zainapora, Shopian, D.H. Pora, Kulgam, Devsar, Dooru, Kokernag (ST), Anantnag West, Anantnag, Shrigufwara, Bijbehara, Shangas-Anantnag East, Pahalgam, Inderwal, Kishtwar, Pad Der, Nagseni, Bhaderwah, Doda, Doda West, Ramban and Banihal.

Voting will be held on these seats in the second phase

Kangan (ST), Ganderbal, Hazratbal, Khanyar, Habbakdal, Lal Chowk, Channapora, Zadibal, Eidgah, Central Shalteng, Budgam, Beerwah, Khansahib, Charar-e-Sharif, Chadoora, Gulabgarh (ST), Reasi, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Kalakot, Sunderbani, Nowshera, Rajouri (ST), Budhal (ST), Thannamandi (ST), Surankot (ST), Poonch Haveli, Mendhar (ST).

Karnah, Trehgam, Kupwara, Lolab, Handwara, Langate, Sopore, Rafiabad, Uri, Baramulla, Gulmarg, Wagura, Kreeri, Pattan, Sonawari, Bandipora, Gurez (ST), Udhampur West, Udhampur East, Chenani, Ramnagar (SC), Bani, Billawar, Basohli, Jasrota, Kathua (SC), Hiranagar, Ramgarh (SC), Samba, Vijaypur, Bishnah (SC), Suchetgarh (SC), R.S. Pura, Jammu South, Bahu, Jammu East, Nagrota, Jammu West.
