After the terrorist attack in Anantnag, Jammu Kashmir, an encounter has taken place between security forces and terrorists in Kishtwar. This morning, there was a shootout between terrorists and joint forces in Kishtwar district of Jammu division. According to the information, a group of Jaish terrorists got trapped. The army has surrounded the terrorists from all sides and the encounter is going on from both sides. The Indian Army has landed para commandos in the area for the search operation.
After the Kokernag encounter and firing in Anantnag, the Indian Army has intensified the search operation. According to sources, a large number of soldiers including Para Commandos of the Special Forces have been deployed. The encounter site is 15 kilometers inside the forest at a very high altitude, the terrorists had ambushed and as soon as the army search party reached near, they started heavy firing from both sides taking advantage of the high ground.
Several soldiers were killed in the firing, so far 2 army personnel of 19RR have been killed in action while 4 others have been injured. 2 civilians were also injured during the operation, one of whom has died.

The army had received input about the presence of terrorists
The army had issued a statement regarding the encounter in Anantnag. The army said that based on specific intelligence input, a joint operation was launched by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF in the general area Kokernag, Anantnag on Saturday. During this, an encounter took place with the terrorists, in which two security personnel were injured and they were evacuated from the area. The operation is still going on.
In this operation, earlier there was news of one soldier getting injured, who was taken to 92 Base Army Hospital. After this, news of another soldier getting injured came to light. Later two soldiers were martyred. The terrorists fled into the dense forest area after being exposed, a large scale search operation is going on.
