JDU started preparations for Jharkhand assembly elections, staked claim on 11 seats

The ruling Janata Dal United in Bihar has started preparations for the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections. JDU has claimed to field its candidates on 11 seats in the state. It is being said that JDU wants to contest the elections in Jharkhand in alliance with BJP.

The party’s high command in Jharkhand has handed over the list of these 11 seats to the Chief Minister after meeting Nitish Kumar on Saturday. JDU wants to contest the elections in Jharkhand in alliance with BJP. However, the final decision regarding seat sharing will be taken after talks with the BJP high command.

The party’s performance was disappointing in 2019

According to the information, Nitish Kumar’s party contested 40 seats alone in the Jharkhand assembly elections in the year 2019. But his party could not win even a single seat. Even before this, in the year 2014, JDU contested 45 seats alone. But even then JDU could not win a single seat.

BJP also started preparations

The Bharatiya Janata Party has started preparations for the assembly elections to be held in these states later this year by announcing its in-charges for Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir. Some of the states in which the BJP suffered setbacks in the Lok Sabha elections include Maharashtra and Haryana.
