During the proceedings in Rajya Sabha on Monday, Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan once again got angry in the House when her husband Amitabh Bachchan’s name was added to her name. During the proceedings, Speaker Jagdeep Dhankhar addressed her as Jai Amitabh Bachchan, to which the SP MP expressed her displeasure. However, later she apologized to the Speaker.
In fact, during the proceedings in the upper house on Monday, the chairman called supplementary number four Jaya Amitabh Bachchan, on hearing this the SP MP got angry and stood up from her seat. She told the chairman, Sir, you know the meaning of Amitabh by thanking. On this the chairman said, Madam, please change it, I will get it changed.
While pacifying Jaya Bachchan, he further said that honourable members, there is a process to change the name which appears in the election certificate and which is submitted here. I took advantage of this process in 1989. We have explained this process of change to every member.

After listening to the chairman, the SP MP said, “No sir, I am very proud of my name and my husband’s name. And I am proud of my husband’s achievements. His name means an aura that can never fade away. I am very happy. You people have started this drama, it was not there before.”
The whole country is proud of them
On this, the Chairman mentioned his visit to France and said, Honorable members, I once went to France. There, in a hotel, the management told me that there are photos of every global icon there. When I went up the stairs, I saw that Amitabh Bachchan’s photo was there. This was in the year 2004. The whole country is proud of him.
‘Add his wife’s name to his name’
After this the chairman gave supplementary number four to Manohar Lal Khattar. On this he said, thank you sir, please put his wife’s name before his name. Or after it. I am not against all this, but sir all this is wrong.
After this, Jagdeep Dhankhar said that many times I have introduced myself as Dr. Sudesh Pati. Dr. Sudesh is my wife. After this, the SP MP apologized to the Chairman. Let us tell you that even before this, the SP MP had opposed adding Amitabh Bachchan’s name to his name.
