Japanese encephalitis wreaks havoc in Assam, 424 cases reported in last two months, 32 patients died

Japanese Encephalitis has wreaked havoc in Assam. 424 cases have been reported here in the months of June and July, out of which 32 patients have died. Apart from this, 353 malaria and 294 dengue patients have also been found.

According to the Health and Family Welfare Department, 424 Japanese encephalitis patients were found in the state in June and July this year. Of these, 48 patients were found in June, while it was confirmed in 376 people in July. One patient died of encephalitis in June, while 28 patients died in July.

Dengue and malaria patients were also found in large numbers

Similarly, a sharp increase in the number of malaria patients was also seen in Assam. Here 166 patients were found in June while 187 patients were found to be suffering from malaria in July. According to the data, three people died of malaria in June.

According to news agency PTI, dengue cases are also increasing in the state. While 80 people were confirmed to have dengue in June, 214 people were affected by dengue in July. It is a matter of relief that no one died due to dengue in the state.

According to official records, the health department is taking several steps to control the spread of the mosquito-bite disease. The government is carrying out fogging across the state. Spraying is being done and various measures are being taken to eliminate dengue larvae.
